INDIA WINNING THE WORLD CUP AGAIN IN 2011


On 2ND April 2011 the day when India regained the coveted the World Cup 2011 after 28 years as they surpassed Sri Lanka with a six wicket victory in the final in Mumbai. The clamorous  jam-packed crowd at Wankhede Stadium erupted in wild celebration when Dhoni finished it off in style by hitting the winning six to give India biggest cricketing moment and crown themselves as the ODI World Champions.

Sri Lanka wins the toss electing to bat first, Mahela Jayawardene  used his vast experience and batted throughout the innings to give Sri Lankans a defending total of 274.

The Indian innings began on a disastrous note as the devastating opener batsman Virender Sehwag was dismissed LBW in the very second ball of the innings by pacer Lasith  Malinga. After that Malinga struck again by dismissing the Sachin Tendulkar and there was utter silence in the crowd.
But the contribution of Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kholi, and the captain himself M.S Dhoni managed India to win the title. It was a proud moment for every Indian and the more for Sachin Tendulkar because it was the only trophy missing from his collections in his long 20 year career.

INDIA FIRST TWENTY-20 CHAMPIONS IN 2007

The inaugural World Twenty20 tournament which had been devised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2007 in South Africa. India had won the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup under the captaincy of M.S Dhoni.

In Durban, India and Pakistan played out a tie, and were involved in the first ever international bowl out, which is the equivalent of a soccer penalty shooting out, which India won 3-0. 



Winning the toss and deciding to bat, India scrapped their way to a 157-7 on a pitch where 180 was possible.  The final match went into the last over Pakistan needing 13 runs to win in the final over, with only 1 wicket remaining. Joginder Sharma bowled the last over he hit a six by Misbah then Pakistan needed just 6 runs to win from the last 4 balls. Misbah attempted to hit the next ball with over fine leg,but he only managed the ball to go within 30 yards from the pitch,and it was caught at short-fine leg by Sreesanth, leaving Pakistan all out for 152 runs.

The Indian Team played so well  throughout the World Cup, and finally they made the World Cup which they deserved. The highlight of this World Cup is that Yuvraj Singh, had hit six sixes in an over, which Stuart Broad had bowled.

INDIA WORLD CHAMPION IN 1983

The 25th June 1983 is the biggest day for India in the history of Cricket. India had won the world championship under the captaincy of Kapil Dev by defeating the two consecutive time champion team West Indies. The 1983 World  cup was held by England and the world cup final match was played on Load’s in England.

 THE FOUR TEAMS IN SEMI-FINALS

1st Semi-final India VS England
2nd Semi-final West Indies VS Pakistan

The Indian team had won 4 matches out of 6 matches they played. Due to their victories Indian managed to get a place in the semi-finals. The 1st semi-final was played between India vs England where Eng made 213 runs batting first. The Indian team easily won the match by 4 wickets to spare.

Then the Indian team met West Indies in the final the favorite team of the World Cup. Where the Indian team lost the toss and put into bat. They were somehow managed to get a decent total in the final 183 all out.
On seeing the West Indies batting line-up the score did not look decent but the great bowling done by the Indian bowler. Mohinder Amarnath who was awarded the man of the match for his all round performance he made 26 runs in the batting and took 3 wickets by giving just 12 runs in his 7 sever over.
